Guess who says "Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah."

Of all people, I am sensitive to the need to be quoted in context, so check this intriguing development out yourself.

Who would have guessed that a leading megachurch pastor/televangelist (John Hagee) would suggest that Jesus is not the Messiah?

It takes some
work, and reading in context, to see what an extreme Zionism has done to this man's theology.
Who would have guessed Hagee himself would be accused of being prophet of the AntiChrist?
(At least Hagee here confirms that Obama is probably not the AntiChrist)

If he means Jesus refused to conform to popular conceptions about what Messiah should look like/act like; or that he did not directly use the term; no problem. But more seems to be at stake.

I would love to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but I don't want to be caught in a Christian bookstore(:
