Video: Pope with Bono's shades/Bono sets sheep free
You know the old joke: "Who's the guy in the funny hat next to Bono?"
There is actually video footage (4:00 below) of that holy moment when Pope John Paul received the gift of Bono shades from the other pope.
Long rumored about, photos were not
released of the pope actually trying on the shades until after his
death.
Jay Leno well teased Bono about the pope's "wicked smile" and "cool footware."
"Catholicism is the glam rock of religion."
After the pope's passing, Bono paid tribute in a number of venues:
"Bono called out the name of the Pope - 'John Paul' to the crowd and described him as 'an Italian who knew the right Person to get into heaven.' (link)
Watch the rest of the clip to watch Bono and The Edge setting sheep free.
That's my only job, too.
That's not a bad job to have.... setting sheep free. I'm just back from Ireland and from Bono's house. There are dozens of pics on my blog. We did not see any of the boys but we had a great time. In fact, I wish I were still there. Thanks for the video - I didn't know it existed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a trip, great pictures, Amber.
