shepherd/pastor rethought: ferocity, royalty, romance

Joel Hoffman suggests that not only is "The Lord is my shepherd" not  the best translation of  o’eh, 

 but that the key biblical images of shepherd are:

• ferocity,
• royalty, 
• romance

Implications for pastors?
