"what can i say/can i do/
Lord, for You
You're the glory"
...it's pretty clear the song is prayer.
The music ain't quiet and reflective,
and it's not ready for just any church..
but it is church:
passionate,
rocks,
"palpable holiness"
and is pure prayer at heart:
Original lyrics:
i sing this song, this one's for You
oh for You
You're the story
its You its You
what can i say
what should i do
oh for You
what can i say
what should i do oh
You're the glory
its You its You
The lead singer was a bit vague at Woodstock '94 about what the song ("Moanjam")is about;
but watch those mosh pit audiences members, banging to a song that inevitably is about, and to Jesus.
Do they know their swaying is a form of amen-ing the praying?
( watch here).
The studio version is a classic song, from a classic album ("Faith Hope Love"),
and offers one of the shreddiest guitar solos ever
prayed/prayed(huh, Skib).....by one of the gentlest Christians around (Ty Tabor).
Most readers here will know some of the band (King's X) story more recently,
particularly Doug Pinnick's..
you know why they are no longer sold in (most) Christian stores..
but if that keeps me from worshipping along to the song,
I guess God doesn't ever use Sigur Ros ...
("Sigur Ros @ Church: is there a problem with that?")
...either.Ty Tabor: I always hated it because the negative connotation of what Christian band means. King's X has always tried to distance ourselves from that industry, from that ideal as far as we possibly could because, in most instances, we have always been deeply opposed to it. The fact that some people write us off for that reason alone and were not even that at all -- has been kind of a drag. On the other hand, how do you ever really know how much something has affected you? We always looked at what we do as art -- just trying to be honest as people, blemishes and all.

Isn't every Christian as "opposed to Christian industry" as Jesus was?
Maybe that's why God himself has been spotted at the Nine Inch Nails gig with Bono.
I agree I want to go to the places where these guys lead worship! I am now on a search to see various worship leaders and pastors who have been playing and writing and singing of Jesus love for years but have not responded to His calling YET!!! Peace
