Many of heard of the "Jerusalem syndrome," where due to being overwhelmed with being in the holy city, people do weird things. I have witnessed a few examples there.
Apparently a related phenemonon occurs among visitors to Iguacu Falls, Brazil. Due to the overwhelming beauty of the place (see some of my visit here), people have been known to flush their underwear, toothbrushes and fire extinguishers (and red Xs) down the toilet.
Whuch explains these signs on the inner lids of toilets there.
Yes, I was tempted.
