Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison's son Dhani ......
and Prince...
were slated to perform "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as a tribute to George Harrison
There are many theories about what happened from the 3:24 mark on (what some call one of the greatest moments in rock history); these would include:
-Nobody knew what Prince would do, and the other guys were blindsided and mad..(except obviously Dahne..just watch his face at 3:24. 4:44!)
-Everyone knew what Prince would do, and the other guys were blindsided and mad (except obviously Dahne)
-The impossible way Prince's guitar disappears at the end was some evil voodoo.
The impossible way Prince's guitar disappears at the end is proof the whole thing was planned (at least by Prince's people)
Welcome! You have accidentally reached the blog of a heteroclite follower of Jesus: dave wainscott. I'm "pushing toward the unobvious" as I post thinkings/linkings re: Scripture, church and culture. Hot topics include: temple tantrums, time travel, sexuality/spirituality, U2kklesia, role of the pastor, God-haunted music/art..and subversive videos like these.
Have you ever seen "The Concert for Bangladesh"? Disc 2, the behind the scenes documentary shows the heart of George Harrison. "My friend came to me and said he wanted help." George helped, and the rest is history. My Sweet Lord, "I want to see You,be with You,want to know You, go with You, that says it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott..will look for that
ReplyDeleteIf you are really interested in watching and can't find a copy, I would be glad to send you one. Have you seen "Searching for Sugarman"? It's a must see true story of a man whose recognition and acceptance took many years to come to fruition.
